Terms of Use
Last updated: November 2026
HighlightHype ("we", "us") runs a private-beta website where families share youth sports highlight clips and vote on their favorites. By using this site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
1. Who can post
- HighlightHype is in private beta — access is by invitation while we test.
- Plays must be posted by a parent or guardian of the athlete, or by someone with that parent/guardian's permission.
- Other athletes will often appear in a clip. By posting, you confirm you have permission covering the athletes shown — including permission from the parent/guardian of any other athlete who is clearly featured.
- Post only your own clips: videos you filmed or that your family owns. No TV, broadcast, streaming, league-film, or other professional footage, and nothing you don't have the right to share.
2. Your videos, and the license you give us
You keep ownership of everything you post. By posting a clip, you give HighlightHype a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, display, reproduce, and share that clip on this website and on HighlightHype's own social channels, so the board, contests, and the athletes' highlight pages can work and be promoted. You can end this license going forward at any time by asking us to remove the clip (see section 4) — copies already shared by other people are outside our control.
3. Moderation
Every play is reviewed by a person before it appears in public. Nothing you upload is visible on the public board until it is approved. We may decline, hide, or remove any content at any time, for any reason — including content that breaks these terms, that we can't verify permission for, or that isn't a fit for a youth sports community. We may also remove votes or contest entries tied to removed content.
4. Reporting and removal
Every play has a Report button — use it if something looks wrong. A parent or guardian can ask us to remove their child's clip or correct its details at any time by emailing hello@highlighthype.com. We act on removal requests from a verified parent/guardian promptly.
5. Voting integrity
- Votes are how the boards and the monthly contest stay honest. Votes and boosts are never for sale — HighlightHype does not sell them, and buying, selling, or trading votes is not allowed.
- Don't use bots, scripts, fake accounts, or coordinated schemes to inflate votes. We may remove manipulated votes, disqualify plays, or remove repeat offenders from the beta.
6. Hype of the Month — contest rules
- Period: each contest runs for one calendar month. Only votes cast during that month count toward that month's contest; the all-time board is separate.
- Entry: any approved play can be entered once per month.
- Prize eligibility: a play is eligible to win only if we can reach the athlete's parent/guardian — a guardian email on file, or a guardian mobile number with the text opt-in checked, from the upload. A play without a reachable guardian contact can be entered and voted on, but cannot claim a prize.
- Winning: the eligible play with the most votes cast that month wins. If there's a tie, the tied play that was entered first wins.
- Contact: winners are contacted only through the parent/guardian — by email and/or consented text. We never contact the athlete directly about prizes.
- Claim window: the guardian has 7 days from our first contact to claim. If the prize isn't claimed in time, or the guardian can't be reached, it goes to the next eligible play in that month's standings.
- Announcement: public announcements use the athlete's display name (first name and last initial) and team only. Contact details are never published.
7. The swag store is a preview
The store shows the Drop 001 collection while products are finalized. There is no real checkout yet — nothing can be bought and no payment is taken through the site. Prices and products may change when the store opens for real.
8. Private beta — service "as is"
HighlightHype is an early, invite-only beta. The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. Features may change, break, or be taken offline, and beta data (including plays and votes) may be reset. To the extent the law allows, HighlightHype isn't liable for losses arising from use of this beta service.
9. Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the current version will always be on this page, with the date above. Questions: hello@highlighthype.com.
